Kit Kat penny slot machine

This beautiful Allwin penny slot was made in the 1950's by Oliver Whales. I found it in an auction house and it was looking a bit worse for wear. Considering it had been used in a traveling fun fair for the last few decades i'm surprised it's here at all. I loved the illustrations and typography, also the aged oak case looked amazing.

It wasn't working when I picked it up and the glass was broken. After tracking down a guy who owns some penny slots on Southport Pier I managed to get a number for a guy called Jerry who collects them. After some persuading I convinced him to get mine working, he also replaced the glass with an original piece. He told me that these particular machines still work as Kat Kats haven't changed shape in the last 60 years, which makes it very collectible. Thanks Jerry!
Not for sale (until I get sick of Kit Kats)

Eddie Russ - Fresh Out

As well as loving furniture and bits and bobs I have been collecting vinyl for as long as I can remember. Soul, funk, jazz, disco, house, techno and anything else that sounds good and makes me happy. Great music complements great furniture perfectly, so now and then i'll offer up a bit from my collection.

A record dealer used to come around my mate's house when we were 19 (Rare Groove days) with crates of records from the States. This is one of the 10 sealed copies of Fresh Out he had! Not the Soul Jazz reissue which came out years later, but the rare as hen's teeth 1st pressing from 1974. Famous for The Lope Song.

1950's floral coffee table

The pattern and colour of this glass topped table is stunning, it's also in great condition. Found it in deepest North London.  Didn't cost me much so it's a bit of a bargain.
